First Bath at Home!

All Done
Mom doing the dirty work ;)

He did not like it much

Getting the water ready

Finally Home!

Aunt Katy holding him for the first time, she wasn't allowed in the NICU

It was so cute we came back to check on him and he had snuggled all the way in with just his arm out:)

Dad getting him ready to be in the light

We got home and had to wait for the Billi bed to arrive. So we tried to enjoy him while we could.

cute lil' booties

I like this bed much better than the hospital!
It was the longest night of my life. Taggart hated being in the billibed, and he did not sleep good. We had to get up and be back to the hospital at 8:30 to check his billirubon counts. Luckily DR. Miles said we could send the bed back and we no longer had to have him in yet. Hooray!

The NICU and our stay at the hospital

Blue Light Special in Room #9

I was cracking myself up, for how I did not want my facewash to spill. They let us room-in for free at the hospital so we had to switch rooms.

He's cute!

Isn't that the cutest little bum you've ever seen? We snuck sis into the NICU, you had to be eighteen and only one other person could be in there at a time with either Billy or me. My parents came, but we did not get a picture of my dad, and we also did not get pictures of Billy's parents. Marci was sick and wasn't able to come see him

The first time holding him in the NICU

So I'm so excited, the day finally came, my baby boy is here. The words come that you dread to hear. He pooped inside of you, he has lots of fluid in his lungs. We're taking him to the NICU. I was so confused they took my baby and Billy went with them. I felt so helpless, I had to stay and let myself get un-numbed before I could go to him. Luckily they let me hold him before they took him. They told us that he would have to be down there at least for 4 days, they started him on antibiotics in case of pneumonia, and they were monitoring everything. Talk about the saddest thing ever, seeing your baby with an iv:( Taggart proved them wrong and was a fighter though. He never had to be on oxygen and he ate really well, getting his sugars up. He would have been able to go home sooner, but then he got jaundice. Seriously it seemed like every day something else was a problem. They put him under blue lights, but then let us go home with the billi-bed. A funny thing about us at the hospital is, I would randomly wake up and think I forgot to go and feed Taggart, Billy would tell me you still have an hour. Since I had to walk so far to get to him, I was always paranoid I wouldn't make it on time. I guess I was just really sleep-deprived!

Finally in Labor

Taggart Billy Burk
June 25, 2010
4:21 p.m.
8 pounds 6 ounces
21 1/4 inches long

Just trying to enjoy being in labor!

My contractions kept getting intense, and so they were worried about the baby so I had to have oxygen.

Thursday, June 24 I took Billy to work and decided to go to the library and get on the computer and read my book. This whole day I had felt a little weird and was hoping that it may be the day. I texted Billy while at the library and told him that we needed to clean our whole house when we got home so that we would be prepared for when the baby decided to come! When we got home I layed on the couch and told Billy that I did not feel good and did not want to clean anymore. So we decided to play Lego Star Wars for a bit but I did not last long. I was starting to have contractions and they were like 13 minutes a part so I told Billy that we needed to keep my mind off of them. He wanted to vacuum first :) So then we went for a walk and my contractions changed to 8 minutes apart. It was weird, because we were talking and realizing that this really could be it. We headed back home and decided to play cards, but Billy wanted to pack his bag first cuz he wanted to be ready. While we were playing cards my contractions started being 3 minutes apart. But me being stubborn told him we were not going to the hospital yet, because I did not want to get sent home! I decided I wanted to shower and then lay down. Since the contractions were getting longer and more consistent Billy finally talked me into heading to the hospital. We got there and checked in around 3:00 A.M. They had me walk around the hospital to get me dilated more so they could start and I.v and get my epidural going. Billy is such a sport, cuz while walking around every three minutes I would have a contraction and have to literally squeeze him into a hug because of the pain. I finally gave up on walking and went back to the room. I got my epidural and told Billy I am comfortable now and I can't imagine anyone not having an epidural when it just takes the pain away! We played cribbage and I guess I was being silly from the medication, because I was singing Billy songs and laughing. It seemed to take forever to continue to dilate so that my baby could get here. Right when they finally told me I could start pushing, my epidural was wearing off, I seriously thought I was going to die! If I even moved an inch it hurt so bad. Billy was getting frustrated cuz they couldn't find the anesthesiologist to come get me more medicine. It took him 45 minutes. But boy was I glad to get more medicine. The nurse told me that it would take 1 hour to 3 hours to push, I was thinking to myself, NO WAY! I can't handle doing that, I was exhausted. I got him out in 40 minutes:)
p.s. I am getting frustrated trying to make the pictures go throughout my post they always end up on top :(

Happy 25th Birthday to me!

I hid my belly with the cake, pretty smart huh?

Since I was hugely pregnant and wanted to go swimming for my birthday! Lol So not happening. We decided to see if we could get the little guy to come a little faster. We went to play frisbee golf, it was so hot and I got tired really fast from walking up and down to where the frisbee's were thrown but it was fun. Billy made me my favorite cake, Rainbow Chip, since he can't have Skor Cake:) And Billy also made his famous baby back ribs. His mom and little brother and sister came over later that night and we played a game and had cake. A couple days after his dad and step mom took us to dinner at the Red Iguana. They brought me the largest piece of tres leches cake, I couldn't even eat all of it lol. It was a pretty good birthday, I was sad that the baby hadn't came yet.

Flat Tire on The Freeway???!!!!

I had just picked up Billy from work and we were on our way home after a long day. I was already one day overdue with our baby and couldn't wait to have him! We got onto the freeway and heard a pop, we thought something got thrown from another car that was by us. We kept driving not really knowing what it was, and right when we got to where we switch from I-15 to I-215 our tire did pop and we had to pull over. We get pulled over on the side of the freeway with cars going by so fast it was crazy. We got the car jacked and everything ready and realized that Billy's hub caps have a certain key to open them and his dad had not given it back to us, or had lost it when he had the car. So we ended up having to call our insurance and they brought a tow truck to take our car to our house. I was glad that this was not the night the baby decided to come. Luckily we made it home and did not have to pay for the tow. The next morning we had to take the car and buy a brand new tire. It never ends does it??

Cockroaches are not my friend!

We got a note from our manager telling us that our unit and whole building would need to be fogged for cockroaches. I could not believe all that we had to do to get ready, and of course me being pregnant I was so stressed about it, and didn't know what to do. It's a good thing that Billy could take charge and help me not be too worried about it. We had to put plastic wrap over everything unless we wanted to end up washing it. We loaded our car with as much as we could and then covered everything else. I told Billy I'd rather move than have to go through that again. It was such a pain, but luckily our manager is nice and gave us rent credit for the inconvenience. We really appreciated that.

Second Baby Shower/ Third Baby Shower!

Lilly

Hayden Poch

It's a boy now???!!!

So crazily I went to my ultra sound at 34 weeks, my dr does them at the end just to make sure the baby is down, and the fluid levels are looking good. I am so glad he did, cuz low and behold we saw boy parts on the ultrasound. I thought I would die!! It was crazy, because that morning I had told Billy that I wouldn't be surprised if we went and got told that we were really having a boy. But we got over the shock and were able to trade all the cute girl things for cute boy things, although there are definitely more cute girl things.
Grace, Lilly, and Ava did the second shower for me. They let me invite all of my friends from down this way, and I was able to invite people from my old ward. It was alot of fun to see so many people and to get so many fun things. It was good to see Karla, Rachel, Leah, and Breck since I never get to see them. I am grateful for all the love that everyone showed in bringing stuff for us and our baby.
I just tried to put more pictures on but my camera died
Marci did the other baby shower and we just invited her side of the family. We got lots of stuff there too, sadly I did not take any pictures but Katy did, and she got some really bad ones of me, way up close. I'm glad I don't have copies lol. We got our car seat/stroller combo there and then we were set for the baby to come whenever!

Visit to DeAnna Cazier :)

I don't know how to make it turn sorry!

I finally went and saw one of my old roommates. She got married a week before me, and already has a little boy, Tyler. He was seven months in this picture. I did not take any pictures of DeAnna and I together, I think cuz I would've felt huge, since I was so pregnant. We had a good time catching up and remembering old times. I hope for more of us to get together soon.
