Owen's Two Week Check Up

Two Week Stats
9 lb 14 oz-90th Percentile
21 1/4 in-80th Percentile
Head-37.5 cm-75th Percentile

We decided to switch Pediatrician's for when the new baby was born. We really liked our other one, but he was too far away and always so busy it was the longest wait. I asked around for recommendations and my ob gave us a name of someone he went to Medical School with. I really like my ob so I trusted his judgement, and now we are going to Southpoint Pediatrics to Dr. Buchanan. I was impressed the second I walked into the office, it is so light and open and very kid friendly. Completely opposite of our old office. But anyways, the Dr said that Owen looks perfect and is a big boy! He said that they like babies to be back to birth weight by two weeks, and Owen exceeds that by over a pound :) Owen is a good little eater, but is still sleeping more during the day than at night. He is waking up about every 2 to 2 1/2 hours in the night. The Dr said that was normal, but I hope it changes soon. I'm worried about him having reflux like Taggart, but we're not sure yet if he does or if he's just trying to eat more than his belly needs, or can handle. He had a little jaundice, but is now doing great. His cord fell off before he was a week old, and I was all worried because it took Taggart's forever to come off, but it was all fine, I also changed him to size one diapers at about a week old. I was getting sick of changing outfits every diaper change. Man does the laundry pile up with a new little one :)

First Bath at home

Laying by Big Brother who wanted to roll right on him.

Sleeping with dad, it seems we can fall asleep anywhere at anytime!

It's much easier to bathe him in the sink, he can't slip away from me.
Billy and I were saying how it seems like it's been 4 months already and not just two weeks. We think it's because we are so sleep deprived, ha ha. We're grateful for this new sweet spirit in our home, and can't wait to see Taggart's relationship with him grow. At this point I have to keep my eyes on him like a hawk, although he is super sweet with him too, we think he just wants him to play with him.

Photo Shoot

Torri's friend, Alisha, works at Fotofly, and she offered me a free photo shoot for my boys. It was so nice of her to do that for us, and we love the pictures! Here a some of the ones we love, which is most of them, lol. Owen was just shy of 2 weeks old, and Taggart is almost 23 Months old.
I love their feet, glad I decided to do barefoot :)

I was so excited about the hammock pictures, they are my favorites!

Taggart had done such a good job, but it was past nap time, and we were trying to get individuals of him, so we took his sippy cup and made him run to it. This was the result :)
Then we let him kick a soft soccer ball so he was happy.
They asked me if Owen was always so well behaved, and I was like ya pretty much. They were amazed that he slept the whole time. I am grateful we got these precious pictures of our boys! I sure love them, and think they are the cutest kids ever :)

Mother's Day

This year for Mother's Day, I stayed home with Owen, and Billy took Taggart to his dads house. They were having a Brunch for Grandma Esther. It was a good opportunity for Billy to see some of his family that he doesn't see, and to have Taggart see Grandma Esther again. I wish I could've went, but it was nice to just stay home and catch up on rest and spend time with my new little one.

Taggart wanted his picture taken again, he's such a little poser now :)

I LOVE my boys :)
Playing with Paisley, they had a hard time sharing with each other. Paisley is 6 months younger than Tagg.

Taggart loves kicking balls now that he knows how, he says caa for kick :)

Just downing a roll!

We are very grateful for our Mothers in our lives, and know we would be lost without them. So thank you to you for raising us and loving us. We will always appreciate it. Happy Mother's Day, we love you :)

Getting ready to go home. This experience with this hospital was so much better. I really liked Jordan Valley too, but my Dr didn't get to deliver Taggart and this time he told me that he would be there no matter what, because that is how this hospital works. The nurses were nicer to us, and the best part of the whole experience was that Owen could be brought to me, instead of me trekking a mile to the NICU to feed the baby every 3 hours. I feel like I was able to get more rest and bond more with my sweet baby. And we got to leave after 2 days instead of "taking up residency" as my dad said last time. Ha Ha

So tiny :)
I have to say thank you to my sister, she helped us out so much and Taggart had a blast with her. We're so grateful that she was willing to come stay and take care of him and help him with the transition. Thanks Peanut for all you did, we love you! We're home and have survived our first week. We love having two little boys and are excited for what new things we learn over the next little while.

I love yawning pictures :)

Matching bands, there was a number that we had to give to anyone who was taking or returning Owen to us in our room for safety reasons. I guess it's good cuz I wouldn't want a Switched at Birth happening :)

Tagg is back, and right by mom again!

The cutest Big Brother!
